Dale will cover these areas: 1) What you need to know before you take a DNA test, 2)What you need to do after you get your DNA results, and 3) How to combine genetic genealogy with traditional genealogical research.

Libraries are filled with resources that can aid you in your research. This presentation will help you make the most of library resources. The SHHAR collection and Genealogy Book collection are available at the El Modena Library in Orange, which is where this presentation will take place.

"Indigenous Northeastern Mexico: Ancestors of the Tejanos (Texans)" by John Schmal

John will discuss the native peoples who originally lived in the states of Nuevo Leon, Tamaulipas and San Luis Potosí, as well as some of the early Spanish settlements. Together, the Spaniards who settled in this region and the Indian groups who had been here earlier represent the ancestors of today’s Tejanos.
